Most human genes exist in pairs. Each individual has two copies of each gene, one inherited from the father and one from the mother. The hemizigosis is a condition in which there is only one copy of a particular gene. The hemizigosis occurs naturally in male sex chromosomes, X and Y. It may also be accidentally in monosomies (although there is no viable monosomy in humans except for the X chromosome) or chromosome deletions.
